Other than moaning about McDonalds being a corporate bully and removing the garlic chilli sauce from its menu….*still feeling a piece of me being taken away*, Let’s not forget the big game tonight where mighty Manchester United take on err..not-so-mighty pool…According to my “less distinguished” colleagues at ESPN, the update is that Torres and Gerrard have actually recovered on time from their injuries..wow surprise surprise, as if I believed any of the crap about them missing the game when it was announced that they were injured. The only blot on Liverpool’s strategy is that they should have waited till the lineups were submitted before making it public knowledge just to give United a shocker. That being said, in my amateurish humble opinion, both set of players seem up for it with Liverpool having a higher than usual chance of winning this fixture. In fact, I think that this is one of their better chances of winning this game. There are several reasons to it:
- Gerrard and Torres passed fit
- They have been playing rubbish (nothing new) but have been picking up the points
- Ronaldo’s not playing
- This fixture is early in the season. United have started the season slowly
That being said though, this could be the fixture that United actually get their season started and start playing like they usually do. Hopefully Jon O’ Shea scores the winner again. Quality player. =p. Once again, in my unbiased opinion, I pick United to win this one although the score will once again be close. 1-0.
An even bigger game awaits us tomorrow with Subiaco United playing CN Canning International as the race for promotion to the Amateur Premier League heats up. A win tomorrow will confirm our top flight status and ensure a 25 million dollar bounty that comes with getting promoted. Our main sponsor KFC has been great with regular supplies of Potatoes and Gravy (Whipped potato) during our games. The club will be also hoping Ryan Westerhout will emerge as top scorer and win the hat-trick of awards that he’s been shortlisted for namely:
- PFA Player of the year
- Best Asian player of the year
- Best Eurasian player of the year
Hopefully he ends up with the golden boot as well. Have a good week guys
Dan
