A bitter sweet weekend with United losing to Liverpool over the weekend.  I must say that it’s utterly gut-wrenching to lose to them and even more so that Pool (Call them poo if you wish) were the better team on the night.  I guess the unbeaten run against them had to come to an end sooner or later..of course Liverpool fans will be claiming that they were due a victory having been the better team in the games between both sides….Sorry to break your hearts pool fans but you can’t be consistently losing by chance…Continuous possession doesn’t necessarily mean you are the better team.  That being said, well done to Liverpool for winning…..

On the flip side, Subiaco are back in the big time…yes the big time simply means the Western Australian Amateur Premier League and a 25 million dollar bounty that comes with sponsorships from KFC, Paddy Maguire’s, Absolute Promotions and the C Restaurant, that by stumbling over the line against Canning.  A 1-1 draw proved to be enough as Stirling could only draw with North Beach and North Lake lost to Gwelup.  Would be hoping Stirling follows us up as the antics of North Lake and Gwelup can be annoying at times.  A bit of grace from these teams would definitely be much appreciated.  Also the refereeing this season (probably has always been) has been utterly disgraceful.  It’s not about whether we win or lose or whether the ref makes mistakes, it’s the fact that the refs are consistently terrible.  Good refs are few and far between due to the attitudes of some of the players constantly berating them.  I guess that’s why we get all the terrible ones.  That being said, it’s been a good season for the club as the ultimate aim has been achieved although the reserves can still finish 2nd if they win their last game and South Perth and Gwelup don’t win on Sunday.  WIll be praying really hard for that on Sunday!

Had a good weekend overall taking care of the little kids at Sunday School and also had to share a testimony at church on an underprivilaged person that a few of us from cell helped over the previous weekend.  Glad to have made an impact in a positive way for God and that we have impacted the community in a really small but positive way.  Sometimes in our relative comfort, we tend to forget about the people that are suffering and less privilaged, I guess everybody has a small part to play for those people as Jesus did not come for the rich nor the wealthy but for the poor and the destitute.  Have a blessed week folks.

God Bless,

Dan
