The glory days have headed back to Subiaco United football club after sealing the championship in emphatic fashion with a 4-0 victory over Suburbs to clinch the title on goal difference.  It was a brilliant day for the club with the second stringers winning their final game 7-2 as well.  Unfortunately though that was not enough to clinch the runners-up spot as South Perth and Gwelup won as well to leave the reserves in 4th spot, just one point behind second place.  The celebrations continued well into the night as the champagne flowed with everybody giving themselves a pat on the back for a season well done.  Despite not playing enough first team games to win a medal, it was awesome to be part of the celebrations.  I felt I had a really good and consistent season overall and have gotten alot of minutes under my belt with the reserves.  It was good to hear from the my team-mates that I had a good year overall….sometimes, these things are much more important than medals, although of course, I’ve made my fair share of mistakes during the year as well.  It was great to see everybody happy as well compared to the doom and gloom of last season when we were relegated due to unfortunate circumstances… Nice to see my good mate aaron coming off the pitch injury free… and didn’t fracture his foot by stepping on a gigantic 5 by 3 centimeter gumnut this year!

In other insignificant games around the globe, (to be honest I couldn’t care less about any other football games under than Subi) Manchester United came within 10 minutes of breaking Chelsea’s 84 home game unbeaten record till Solomon Kalou headed in an equaliser.  Earlier on, Park (my asian brother) put United ahead with a well-taken close range finish….such a pity really that we didn’t get all 3 points.  It most probably would have dealt Chelski a massive psychological blow…and bring the rest of the world to cheers…It’s not difficult to see why nobody likes them these days with their continuous whinging and pompous attitudes thinking that they are above the law in everything they do.  John Terry’s penalty miss in Moscow now feels even sweeter when I think of it…hehe….

It’s been a brilliant weekend overall sewing up the league, having a great day with the children at Kid’s arise and still feeling totally chuffed….Thank God for everything.

Cheers,

Dan
