I just realised 10 minutes ago that writing a blog is a commitment and if I don’t write today, I’d probably tell myself I’d do it tomorrow and so and on and on. As usual, I’ve been plotting about good funny stuff to write and didn’t get it done or crystalise it properly enough for writing. I also had this massive debate with a friend that wikipedia is and always is the best source of information these days and that Manchester United is the greatest team in the world as evident by our massive hammering of Aalborg. I think the 3-0 win over the mighty Danes is further proof that we are the best team in Europe and anybody that thinks otherwise should be shot. Also, anybody who takes what i’m writing seriously obviously is taking life a little too seriously and should be shot as well. I’ve been suffering from a major hangover since the season ended. I thought I was going to be a relieved man after the season ended but it seems that I’m missing it already. I would be looking fwd to Sky Sports (personal olympus and sony cameras) telecasting our games and massive crowds (to the tune of old boys and bored wives) at our games when the following season starts.
Had an awesome trip to Busselton with the boys over the weekend for the soccer carnival…Had the noisiest and oldest room but had a smashing good time watching the 80s top 100 countdown and winning (most of) the games. Room 30 proved its class with Messrs Pearly Whites, Coxy, Big Moo, Mackie and myself sweeping all the man of the match awards at the carnival… hardly surprising though considering the quality we have in our ranks…. Only downside is that we couldn’t win the carnival trophy and had to settle for the foundation cup in the end no thanks to our organiser Jonesy who couldn’t put a proper team out together during crucial games…(sorry dude..u are a convenient scapegoat). I must say he did a great job organising the whole thing for us and hopefully we’ll win it next year….
It’s quite sad to hear that J.B. Jeyaretnam pass away due to a heart failure on early Tuesday. A fiery opposition leader and former member of Parliament, JBJ as he is affectionately called became the first man to break the People’s Action Party (PAP) monopoly when he won the Anson by election in 1981. He was also one of the most outspoken critics of the PAP who was and still is the ruling party of the nation. Every country needs an opposition and he definitely provided a really good one and will be sorely missed.
God Bless,
Dan
