Had a great week last weekend with the club windup on Friday and the SSS soccer tournament on Saturday. It was a great awards night where the plaudits were given to the players who had been outstanding during the season. Not surprisngly, Ryan, Chris and Mackie won everything from best and fairest to best newcomer leaving poor souls like aaron to win shitty but funny awards such as Football Writers player of the year where he was awarded a pack of gumnuts as a result from fracturing his foot stepping on one of them during pre-season! And I won a photo frame of myself in a Terminator poster that was titled “huanginator” for best social mascot or something..oh well at least i have some value…
Despite playing every team off the park we ended not winning the SSS soccer tournament losing the final on penalties..our football was beautiful to play in though and the boys can be proud of themselves for the way we played…you can’t win them all sometimes I suppose….That’s all on the football front for now…
